The Bridgeview Bank, 1175 Corporate Woods Parkway in Vernon Hills, was robbed takeover style about 5:05 p.m. Thursday by three male offenders. The three bank robbers struck a bank employee and locked others in the vault. Takover robberies involve commanding attention by the offenders and can involve violence, compared to ‘note jobs’ where robbers keep a low profile and just hand the teller a note demanding cash.
The first armed robber is described as a male/Hispanic, 6’1″ 240 pound, obese, wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black gloves. He displayed a large black handgun.
The second offender is described as a male/Black, 5’9″ 170 pounds, wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black gloves. He also displayed a large black handgun.
The third bank robber is described as a male/Black, 6’2″ 225 pounds with a stocky build. Suspect #3 was also wearing a black hoodie, black jeans and black gloves. He also displayed a large black handgun.
The suspects were last seen on foot fleeing near 900 Corporate Woods Parkway in Vernon Hills. Later, police learned three men hijacked a 2003 gray Nissan Maxima four-door from two women. The Maxima was found in the 900 block of Corporate Woods Parkway, where footprints led to another vehicle.
