UPDATE: The motorcyclist involved in pursuit involving the Bank of America robbery on Tuesday may not have been the bank robber. Although the motorcyclist fled from police at exceptionally high speeds, no charges have been filed yet.
Police activity in west suburbs about 1:20 p.m. for pursuit of a bank robber suspect on a 2005 Suzuki, blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ style motorcycle — suspect in a bank robbery at the Bank of America at 1805 East Golf Road in Schaumburg.
Schaumburg police responded to a bank robbery just after 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bank of America at 1805 East Golf Road in Schaumburg.
The offender was seen eastbound on foot toward Route 53. The offender was described as a male/white with short, brown hair and glasses, about 5 feet 8 inches tall and 150 pounds. He was wearing khaki slacks and a white shirt, and had a black duffel bag carried over his shoulder. He implied he had a gun, but he did not display a gun.
Schaumburg police squad picked up a short pursuit, but lost a 2005 Suzuki ‘crotch rocket’ style motorcycle southbound at Higgins Road.
Suspect was sighted and pursued near Elmhurst … Hillside police were chasing a blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ motorcycle in the area of Wolf Road (southbound) and Butterfield.
Police in the west suburbs, including Oak Brook Terrace police are looking for a blue over white ‘crotch rocket’ motorcycle, driver wearing a silver helmet and a black backpack.
The pursuit started near Wolf and Butterfield Road, then proceeded approximately as follows …
Westbound
Police terminated in the area of southbound I-355 and Roosevelt Road.
The pursuit has been on and off several times near Westchester, Western Springs, Darien, on Interstate 55 and Interstate 355.
Burr Ridge in pursuit at 2:12 p.m. northbound I-355 approaching 75th Street. Vehicle lost vehicle at I-355 and Maple.
A motorcycle stopped at Kingston and Maple just west of Route 53 by Downers Grove police was not the correct motorcycle.
Police departments involved in the chase and search include Burr Ridge, Darien, Westchester, Western Springs, Lisle, Cook County Sheriff, Forest Park, DuPage Country Sheriff.
