Clever Undercover or Big Fake — Unbelievable!
Purported undercover video investigation in Baltimore claims ACORN workers helped make prostitution a legal business using tax codes: ‘independent artist’ or ‘performing arts’ on the 1090 Tax Form (Schedule C).
ACORN workers help two business people (actors) obtain housing by advising Proprietor and Employee (Pimp and Prostitute) to classify 13 to 15 El Salvadoran illegal immigrant as dependents … or just don’t worry about them. When these girls arrive, they’re not going to be employees.
“If they’re underage and working, you shouldn’t let anybody know, anyway [laughter].
— ACORN Tax Specialist (alleged)
The ACORN Tax Specialist tells the proprietor not to issue underage prostitutes W-2’s for sex work, and to claim them as ‘dependents.’ Prostitutes trafficked in from El Salvador ‘don’t even exist.’ Exactly.
Part II — more tax credits.
ACORN Housing employee calls underage prostitutes trafficked in from El Salvador ‘exchange students.’ Not to worry.
ACORN Tax Specialist tells prostitute she can get a ‘Child Tax Credit’ for a few underage prostitutes trafficked in from El Salvador.
ACORN Housing Employee teaches prostitute how to launder money into political campaign.
The ACORN undercover scandal video with a actress working girl and her actor working man was recorded by James O’Keefe, a film maker, for the political blog section of Breitbart.com called “Big Government”
ACORN’s response to the undercover video?
“The portrayal is false … This film crew tried to pull this sham at other offices and failed. ACORN wants to see the full video before commenting further.”
What is ACORN?
Founded in 1970, ACORN is a community-based organization with support for low- and moderate-income families in the categories of neighborhood safety, voter registration, health care, affordable housing, and other social issues. ACORN calls itself “the nation’s largest grassroots community organization of low- and moderate-income people.” The group says it has more than 400,000 member families organized into more than 1,200 neighborhood chapters in 110 cities. ACORN was founded by Wake Rathke with Gary Delgado and Goerge A. Wiley.
ACORN also provides support for issues such as predatory lending, minimum wage and funding for public schools, according to its Web site — acorn.org. ACORN also provides free tax-return preparation for low-income people and screening for state and federal benefit programs.
Nevada authorities raided the Las Vegas office of the community-organizing group ACORN in October 2008, seeking evidence of voter fraud. In May 2009, Nevada Attorney General Catherine Cortez Masto and Secretary of State Ross Miller announced the filing of criminal charges against the Association of Community Organization for Reform Now Inc. (ACORN) and two of its employees for compensating their employees to register voters based upon a corporate mandated quota system. Throughout 2008, ACORN employed canvassers to register people to vote in Nevada. ACORN paid the canvassers a rate of between $8.00 and $9.00 per hour, but made continued employment, and therefore continued compensation, contingent upon the canvasser registering 20 voters per shift. Canvassers who failed to obtain 20 voter registration forms per shift were terminated.
From July 27, 2008 through October 2, 2008, ACORN also provided additional compensation, in the form of a bonus program called “Blackjack” or “21+” that was based upon the total number of voters a person registered. Specifically, a canvasser who brought in 21 or more completed voter registration forms per shift would be awarded a bonus of $5.00.
The Blackjack bonus program was created by ACORN employee Christopher Edwards, the Field Director for the Las Vegas office. ACORN timesheets indicate that corporate officers of ACORN were aware of the “Blackjack” bonus program and failed to take immediate action to terminate it. Amy Busefink was ACORN’s Deputy Regional Director who was aware of the “Blackjack” program and aided and abetted the scheme by approving Christopher Edwards’ bonus program.
The investigation into the ACORN scheme stemmed from a complaint filed with the Nevada Secretary of State’s office by Clark County Registrar of Voters, Harvard “Larry” Lomax. Larry Lomax’ office had received a significant number of Voter Registration Application (VRA) forms that appeared to be fraudulent. These forms were identified by serial numbers on the applications as those issued to ACORN for the purpose of registering new voters. FOXNews broke the story showing the fake documents. One account from FOXNEWS reporter Eric Shawn showed ten ‘Monica Ray’ voter registration forms.

IF ACORN workers are violating the law — PROSECUTE!
I’m curious to know who these guys are that put this together – young republican jerks? Young Democratic jerks who are trying to bait wingnuts (its working). Young nihilists just looking to rile people up? Art types who believe they are creating some sort of happening? Advertising guys hoping the song “Rediculous” will go viral thanks to this rediculous vid? I doubt they understand the consequences of their actions… angry young white men with a sense of entitlement do not make the best moral actors, for sure. I wonder if the right wingers that fell for this hook line and sinker are going to go after them? Out of fear will they delay or cancel their announcement that it’s a hoax? I wouldn’t want to be them, I think they’ve dug themselves in deep.
Right, someone exposes illegality and they are young republican, right winger, jerks. I suppose you think that a thief being arrested is a victim and the police are just a bunch of jerks, as well. Get in touch with reality, please.
What was said in this video by ACORN workers (surprise surprise) wasn’t just wrong, it was evil. Anyone left defending them should be ashamed of themselves. Since when was legal and illegal and matter of left or right? You break the law and you get busted. I’ve been pulled over three times and not once has the officer asked me about my party affiliation.
Am I the only one who thought the Acorn workers looked scripted? Where are the skeptical thinkers? On a wider perspective, Is this the nature of politics?
I really think this whole thing is a scam to make programs that help the poor and needy look bad. I really hope people look into the videos and ensure they are real, then declare the results of investigations loudly. They look very scripted.
Unfortunately, no matter how fake a video is, people will believe it to be fact long after it’s declared false. Hopefulyl people can present on all the good things the organization does.
