Arlington Heights police responded to a hit-and-run accident on Golf Road, just west of Arlington Heights Road about 2:50 p.m. Friday. A white SUV and a red Dodge Caravan collided, but the white SUV fled southbound on Arlington Heights Road. The offending vehicle was described as a white SUV that fled southbound on Arlington Heights Road. An Arlington Heights police officer caught up with the SUV, which turned out to be a 1998 Ford Expedition.
One woman associated with the Dodge Caravan was injured. The Caravan had severe damage on the passenger side of the van. Hillside towing was called for both vehicles — one at the scene, and one at the traffic stop for the fleeing vehicle.
The driver of the Ford Expedition was in custody about 3:00 p.m.
