UPDATE June 16 2009 — Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte’ Stallworth, 28, is sentenced to serve 30 days in jail after pleading guilty in Florida to a DUI manslaughter charge. Miami-Dade Circuit Judge Dennis Murphy present.
MAR 14 2009 — The Miami Herald and broadcast partner WFOR reported that Donte Stallworth, 29, was legally drunk (Blood Alcohol Content .14) at the time of an accident that killed construction worker Miguel Reyes (also reported Mario) at 7:17 a.m. Saturday near Fisher Island Drive and the MacArthur Causeway. The Miami Police Department is not confirming any details of the investigation of the accident, in which Donte Stallworth was driving a two-door Bentley. Other sources report tests showed Stallworth’s blood-alcohol content was .126.
DUI Manslaughter, a class 2 felony in the state of Florida, carries a 15-year maximum jail term. A minimal sentence would involve at least some jail time, which would end Stallworth’s NFL career.

An absolute shame. A man was killed by a drunk driver. I could not care less about Stallworth’s fate; he CHOSE to be wreckless and irresponsible by driving while under the influence, therefore deserves the punishment which is to come. Hopefully, the legal system will not fumble and give him a break because of his $tatu$.
It is now Friday, March 27, 2009…a question for the Florida police (and whatever powers that be), “WHAT IN THE HELL IS TAKING YOU SO LONG TO RELEASE THE RESULTS OF DONTE STALLWORTH’S TOXICOLOGY TEST(S)???!!!…the family of a man who was killed by this DRUNK DRIVER probably needs some ca$h NOW!!!!!
April 1, 2009: DONTE’ STALLWORTH CHARGED WITH DUI (0.126) MANSLAUGHTER. HE WAS ALSO DRIVING 50MPH IN A 40MPH ZONE, AND SWERVED AROUND A CAR STOPPED AT A RED LIGHT, CONTINUING THROUGH THAT RED LIGHT. THEN HE SAW MARIO REYES IN THE STREET, HONKED THE HORN AND FLASHED THE HEADLIGHTS, THEN STRUCK AND KILLED HIM. STALLWORTH, HAVING CHOSEN TO ACT IRRESPONSIBLY, DESERVES THE MAXIMUM PUNISHMENT.
Help me understand this!!! Micheal Vick killed dogs and at least served a couple years in prison…Stallworth kills Mr Reyes and gets 30 days…something isn’t adding up here. God bless you Mr Reyes for not even rating better treatment than a dog.
