person of interest in shooting death of police officer.
A University City, Missouri police officer was shot and killed Friday night. Police have identified the officer as Sgt. Michael King, 50, a 25-year veteran with the University City Police Department.
The shooting took place around 10:30 p.m. October 31, 2008 at Delmar Boulevard near Leland Avenue — an area where police often park and do paperwork while watching weekend crowds.
Sergeant King was shot three times at point blank range on Halloween night.
According to a broadcast to police departments nationwide, Todd Sheppard, 41, is a person of interest in the case. The suspect’s car is reported to be a light blue or gray, four-door 1993 model Oldsmobile Cutlass with Missouri license plates: 2AB 28J. Todd Sheppard is a black male, 5’10”-5’11”, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing dark pants, light-colored shirt, and a multicolored jacket.
