Dying Under the Influence …
LOS ANGELES — A man trying to slide down the banister of an escalator in the famous Hollywood shopping mall lost his balance and fell several stories onto another escalator below.
He was declared dead at a hospital from a head injury.
Police say his friends said the man “had been drinking quite a bit.”
The Hollywood & Highland Center is in the same complex that holds the Kodak Theatre, where the Academy Awards are held [MAP/SAT].
