About 1:00 a.m. Thursday police received a report of a burglary to contents of a car parked in the parking lot near XSPORT Fitness, Fox & Hounds and Harbor Freight in the 900 block of West Dundee Road in Arlington Heights. Smash and grabs are a recurrent problem in this parking lot. Car windows are smashed and purses, iPods, GPS devices and other items are easily stolen when in view of thieves.
The smash and grabs thefts have occurred during all hours of the day.
