Msplinks.com, a fraud prevention service, is being used to filter outgoing links posted in MySpace comments. Links are converted to a long url string that starts with www.msplinks.com — a re-direct that prevents the comment-poster’s intended link from functioning.
The comments were used by spammers to enhance search engine optimization. The result was a lot of annoying comments posted by spammers on MySpace profile pages. Unfortunately, legitimate links are also prohibited (at least emporarily) by the anti-fraud technology.
UPDATE: In mid-June MySpace added the anti-fraud protection to to filter outgoing links in profile pages.
