A man only described as average height and medium build, wearing a dark green hooded sweatshirt and black pants. broke into a woman’s home in the 700 block of Grove Drive [MAP/SAT] and straddled her in the middle of the night.
The woman fought off the intruder as he attempted to put a pillow over her mouth.
The victim awoke just before 4:00 a.m. Monday to find an unknown man inside her first-floor Fireside Terrace condominium on the 700 block of Grove Drive in Buffalo Grove near Arlington Heights. The offender escaped out of a patio door.
Two suspicious traumatic deaths were reported after a condo fire last December 2006 on Trace Drive — less than one block from the condo home invasion Grove Drive Monday.
Anyone with information on the home invasion is asked to call the Buffalo Grove police at (847) 459-2560. No connections or suspects have been announced.
