Rosie O’Donnell once admitted on The O’Reilly Factor in March 2002 that she doesn’t know anything about Afghanistan except that it’s a place where terrorists are. Now she needs to admit that she knows nothing about the physics of steel in extreme heat and fire. Here is a transcript of a discussion between Rosie O’Donnell and Elizabeth Hasselbeck on March 29, 2007.
Elizabeth: No … no. I don’t.
Rosie: Yes, says the crowd (applause).
Elizabeth: I don’t. Do you believe that the government had anything to do with the attack of 9/11? Do you believe in a conspiracy in terms of the attack of 9/11?
Rosie: No, but I do believe that it’s the first time in history that fire has ever melted steel. I do believe that it defies physics for the World Trade Center tower 7—building 7, which collapsed in on itself—it is impossible for a building to fall the way it fell without explosives being involved. World Trade Center 7. World Trade [Center] 1 and 2 got hit by planes—7, miraculously, the first time in history, steel was melted by fire. It is physically impossible.”
Elizabeth: And who do you think is responsible for that?
Rosie: I have no idea, but to say that we don’t know that it imploded, that it wasn’t an implosion and a demolition, is beyond ignorant. Look at the films, get a physics expert here [on the show] from Yale, from Harvard, pick the school—[the collapse] defies reason.
Quite a few YouTubers have posted clips of this rant that Rosie spouted that the Building 7 fire was ‘the first time in history that fire has melted steel’ …

One month after the March 29 discussion — on April 29, 2007 — a tanker truck crashed on a bridge in Oakland, California and exploded and burned. The heat and fire weakened the steel of the bridge support system of ‘The Maze’ at Interstate 580 and Interstate 880 [MAP/SAT] and caused the bridge to collapse and obstruct traffic that connects Oakland and San Francisco via the Oakland Bay Bridge.

Conspiracy theorists still hold on to their argument of controlled demolition, claiming that Building 7 did not have the fuel to burn and cause a collapse compared to Tower 1 and Tower 2. A Popular Mechanics article disputes the conspiracy theorists, pointing to damage to Building 7 from the collapse of the 110-story World Trade Center North Tower. Building 7 was severely damaged when nearly a quarter of the building was carved away over the bottom 10 stories of its south face, and significant damage was visible up to the 18th floor of the 47-story building.
