Back like Energy FM or Energy 92.7&5 … once again there is dance music seven nights a week in Chicago on “Nine FM,” the Newsweb Corp. simulcast combo of WDEK-FM (92.5), WKIE-FM (92.7) and WRZA-FM (99.9).
Starting Monday, May 14, 2007, Chris Chudzik’s “Dance Factory,” which has been airing on Friday and Saturday nights, will expand to every night of the week.
Geared to listeners younger than the rest of the station’s 25-to-54 target age group, the show features a wide variety of dance music popular in suburban clubs and mix segments.
EVERY NIGHT
“Dance Factory” will start at 9 p.m. Sunday through Friday and at 8 p.m. Saturdays.
“Ever since ‘Energy FM’ left the Chicago airwaves a few years ago, there has been a void on the radio dial, and Chris has been fighting to get the music back on the air,” said program director Matt DuBiel. “We’re glad to able to fill that void while still being able to play all the other great songs from our music library of over 6,000 titles.”
Despite the music shift at night, station bosses insist they have no plans to alter the eclectic “We Play Anything” format that airs during the rest of the day.
