A BlackBerry outage left millions of subscribers without access to e-mail from about 7 p.m. CDT Tuesday evening until early Wednesday morning with a gradual return of e-mail to users across North America and parts of Europe and Asia. . The Research in Motion company said in a statement released early Wednesday that it was still reviewing the situation.
The outage affected only data services, including e-mail and mobile Web browsing, but did not affect phone service and SMS text messaging, which points to a technical issue within one of Research In Motion’s Network Operations Centers.
