At 2:00 a.m. Sunday, March 11, 2007 we will be starting the new Daylight Savings Time that was approved by the Energy Policy Act of 2005. The new Daylight Savings Time that starts this year 2007 will add about one month to Daylight Savings Time.
The change means: (1) we now change the clocks by SPRINGING FORWARD the second Sunday in March instead of the first Sunday in April; and (2) we change the clocks by FALLING BACK the first Sunday in November instead of the last Sunday in October.

The National Fire Protection Association and the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission recommend that we change the battery in smoke and carbon monoxide detectors when we change the clocks for Daylight Saving Time.
