It doesn’t happen very often, but a pretty significant fog blanketed the
Chicago area this Friday morning. By 8:30 a.m. the sky was sunny and
perfectly clear.
Last night, patchy ground fog lurked in left and center field during the
Arlington Heights Park District Fall High School Baseball League at
Recreation Park’s Lloyd Meyer Field. Long, wet grass in the infield
slowed ground balls to a halt, so third basemen and shortstops really
had to charge the ball to make a play at first.
